Fire & Edge - Summer Bushcraft for Teens
Real skills. Real confidence. Real adventure.
Description
Fire & Edge is a 3-week summer bushcraft programme designed for young people ready to take on challenge, responsibility and leadership in the wild.
Each full-day, drop-off session gives teens the chance to master bushcraft fundamentals, build real confidence, and form meaningful connections — with nature, with peers, and with themselves.
This isn’t just playing in the woods — it’s a hands-on, empowering experience where they’ll learn practical skills, problem-solve in teams, and take ownership of real camp tasks. All while gaining the confidence and sense of belonging that comes from working together around the fire.

- Build shelters, structures and tools with natural materials
- Take part in team challenges, group tasks and leadership roles
- Learn decision-making, resilience and emotional self-regulation
- Engage in reflective and therapeutic practices

What parents and young adults say about the bushcraft programmes
"My two teenagers have thoroughly enjoyed Bracken's sessions for a number of years. His sessions go well beyond the usual forest school activities, and he is excellent at developing and broadening the skills and confidence of the young people who attend. Learning how to respectfully skin & butcher a deer, build a variety of shelters, and make remedies from foraged plants, have all been highlights."

Claire
"I always learn something new at Bracken’s bushcraft sessions. He teaches us about different plants and trees in the forest and what we can use them for. I loved making toffee apples over the fire."

Noah
"I really love Bracken’s sessions because he lets us all get involved and make small fires. We get to use tools independently which we never got to do at school. He lets us have a go and guides us if we need help"

Joel
"I really love coming to Bracken's bushcraft sessions. I have found it fun doing bushcraft with my friends and learning new skills. I have always loved playing in the woods and making dens but Bracken had taught me lots more skills like knot tying, fire lighting and shelter building. His sessions have given me more self confidence and a sense of achievement. "

Bracken is very knowledgeable and answers all your questions about bushcraft and the forest. I really enjoyed learning how to light a fire and get it going as I’ve never managed to keep it going before
