Ten Acres Conservation
About
The Ten Acres site in South Birmingham has been neglected for a number of years and is rarely used positively. With funding from Severn Trent, Birmingham City Council and The National Lottery – organised by Sustainable Life and Friends of Ten Acres – we have been running volunteer conservation sessions to restore the natural heritage of the site.
Activities include:
- Thinning trees to allow more light into denser areas and create a healthy under-story.
- Clearing paths for eventual resurfacing to allow access for all.
- Helping to control invasive species on the site.
- Litter gathering and removal to increase health and beauty of the area.
You don’t have to be massively fit or strong to join our sessions and lend a hand. Every contribution whether big or small is appreciated.
