Ten Acres Conservation

About

The Ten Acres site in South Birmingham has been neglected for a number of years and is rarely used positively.  With funding from Severn TrentBirmingham City Council and The National Lottery – organised by Sustainable Life and Friends of Ten Acres – we have been running volunteer conservation sessions to restore the natural heritage of the site.

Activities include:

  • Thinning trees to allow more light into denser areas and create a healthy under-story.
  • Clearing paths for eventual resurfacing to allow access for all.
  • Helping to control invasive species on the site.
  • Litter gathering and removal to increase health and beauty of the area.

You don’t have to be massively fit or strong to join our sessions and lend a hand. Every contribution whether big or small is appreciated. If you want to help make a difference, click the link below to get in touch. Otherwise, you can follow our work on the Ten Acres Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/friendsoftenacres/ or on the website at http://tenacresconservation.co.uk/.
